It’s a common problem.
You go to take a hit off your Vuse Alto, but nothing happens.
No vapor, no flavor, nothing.
You check the pod, it’s definitely inserted correctly, so what’s the problem?
Well, don’t worry, you’re not alone.
In this article, we’ll walk you through some of the most common reasons why your Vuse Alto might not be hitting, and how to fix them.
Causes of Weak Hitting
There are a few potential causes of weak hitting with the Vuse Alto.
First, it’s possible that the pod is not properly inserted into the device.
If the pod isn’t fully seated, air can leak into the device and cause the hit to be weaker.
Another possibility is that the pod itself is damaged or defective.
If the pod is damaged, it may not be able to hold enough e-liquid to produce a strong hit.
Finally, the coil in the pod may be gunked up or damaged.
This can happen if the coil isn’t replaced regularly, or if the e-liquid you’re using is particularly thick or sticky.
How to Fix It?
1. Check the Airflow
The first thing to check is the airflow.
If the airflow is blocked, then the Alto won’t hit.
To check the airflow, remove the pod and look inside the connection point.
You should see a small hole.
If that hole is blocked, then air can’t flow through and the Alto won’t hit.
To fix a blocked airflow, use a paperclip or something similar to clear the hole.
If the hole is clear and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
2. Check the Battery
If the battery is dead, the Alto won’t hit.
To check the battery, remove the pod and look at the LED light on the side of the device.
If the light is green, then the battery is fully charged.
If the light is red, then the battery is low.
If the light is flashing red, then the battery is critically low and needs to be charged.
To charge the Alto, use the included micro USB cable and plug it into a power source.
The LED light will turn red while charging and green when it’s done.
If the battery is fully charged and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
3. Check the Pod
If the pod is empty, the Alto won’t hit.
To check the pod, remove it from the device and look at the window on the side.
You should be able to see the e-liquid level.
If it’s empty, then that’s why the Alto isn’t hitting.
To fix an empty pod, simply insert a new one.
If you don’t have a new one, you can buy one here.
If the pod isn’t empty and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
4. Check the Connection
If the connection between the pod and the device is loose, the Alto won’t hit.
To check the connection, remove the pod and look at the connection point.
You should see a small hole.
If that hole is blocked, then the connection is loose and the Alto won’t hit.
To fix a loose connection, use a paperclip or something similar to clear the hole.
If the hole is clear and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
5. Check for Leaks
If there’s a leak, the Alto won’t hit.
To check for leaks, remove the pod and look inside the connection point.
You should see a small hole.
If that hole is blocked, then there’s a leak and the Alto won’t hit.
To fix a leak, use a paperclip or something similar to clear the hole.
If the hole is clear and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
6. Check the Coil
If the coil is burnt out, the Alto won’t hit.
To check the coil, remove the pod and look inside the connection point.
You should see a small hole.
If that hole is black, then the coil is burnt out and the Alto won’t hit.
To fix a burnt-out coil, insert a new one.
If you don’t have a new one, you can buy one here.
If the coil isn’t burnt out and the Alto still isn’t hitting, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
7. Check the Device
If the device is faulty, the Alto won’t hit.
To check the device, remove the pod and look at the LED light on the side of the device.
If the light is flashing red, then the device is faulty and the Alto won’t hit.
If the device is faulty, you’ll need to replace it.
You can buy a new one here.
