This Privacy Policy explains how AnswerCatch ("AnswerCatch", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit answercatch.com, create an account, or use our AI receptionist and missed-call recovery services (the "Services"). We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and limited information collected automatically.

Information you provide

• Account information: your name, business name, email address, and password when you sign up.
• Onboarding details: business phone, industry, business hours, services offered, after-hours preferences, greeting style, number-setup choice, calendar/appointment destination, lead-alert phone and email, and chosen plan.
• Contact & demo requests: information you submit through our contact or demo forms.
• Communications: messages you send us by email or other channels.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar diagnostic data.
• Session data: authentication tokens stored in your browser to keep you logged in.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and provide the Services;
• Configure and operate your AI receptionist based on your onboarding details;
• Book appointments and send you lead alerts by text and email;
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
• Process payments and manage your subscription;
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Services;
• Send you service-related and, where permitted, marketing communications;
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Call & caller data

A core function of the Services is answering phone calls on your behalf. In doing so, we may process information about the people who call your business ("callers"), including their name, phone number, service address, the nature of their request, appointment details, and a summary of the call.

This caller data is collected on your behalf and for your business purposes. As the business owner, you are responsible for informing your callers, where required by law, that calls may be answered, recorded, transcribed, or summarized by an automated system, and for obtaining any consent required in your jurisdiction. We process this data to deliver the Services to you and do not sell it.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Services:

• Service providers: trusted vendors that help us run the Services (for example, cloud hosting, database and authentication providers, telephony/voice providers, email delivery, and payment processors), who are permitted to use the data only to provide services to us.
• At your direction: for example, when we send booked appointments to your calendar or lead alerts to the contacts you specify.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of AnswerCatch, our users, or others.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database so each account can only access its own data — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

You can update most of your information from your dashboard, or contact us to exercise these rights. You may also opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
